Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a creative, energetic Precision Business Development Manager who possesses tenacity, resilience and strong business-to-business sales experience who can bring both strategy and flair to our fast-growing business development team and give our sales pipeline a further push and create a future Business Development strategy, integrated into the Demand Generation and Growth Marketing function.

As a BDM you will lead the Business Development team in the process of prospecting, researching, generating engagement and SQLs within our target accounts and beyond – through a series of outbound and inbound activities, all integrated into our multi-channel demand generation programs. Your team will work in liaison with the marketing and the account management team, using a combination of (social) networking, contextualized email marketing and opening conversations up with key decision makers.

 What you’ll be doing

  • Maintain a strong understanding of financial services, our solution offering and our buyer personas challenges and needs to create a clear framework for a precision-based Business Development function
  • Recommend and implement innovative strategies to conduct outbound personalized engagements with target accounts (mostly through email and social interactions) and convert faster inbound requests
  • Collaborate with other internal stakeholders (Sales, Account teams, Customer Success, Product and Brand marketing) to ensure requirements are met and to create and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects/demo requests
  • Follow existing sales pipeline and expand this pipeline with new appropriate prospects or (regional) expansion into existing accounts whilst developing strategies to capitalize/nurture all identified opportunities to maximize customer revenue contribution
  • Create and implement Business Development Representatives (BDRs) playbooks and sequences in sync with the sales and marketing stakeholders
  • Hire, train and manage BDRs and account researchers and identify areas of growth for each BDR; the BDM is accountable for all internal activities and external strategies within the BDM team
  • Test and optimize email messaging/social media messages templates by identifying and mapping business trends and customer needs for:
  • Different channels (inbound leads, LinkedIn)
  • Different solutions (email templates with key messaging pillars for each solution)
  • Marketing campaigns (events, webinars, whitepapers)
  • Personalized follow-ups to ensure an increasing number of demo booking/exploratory calls with AEs/AMs
  • Allocate leads on a daily basis to the BDR team – ensuring that the SLAs/handover process is seamless
  • Oversee the correct use of marketing collaterals to generate interest in our products and services
  • Ensure that data quality score is growing and that all targeted accounts are properly prospected
  • Explore further data enrichment/segmentation alternatives/third party account data sources
  • Test new innovative approaches (eg. personalized mail, personalized video) and implement latest BDR best practices, focused on conversion
  • Analyze metrics (together with the email marketing manager) and create reports, highlighting success and areas that need improvements

What you have

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Business Development or Sales in B2B/SaaS/B2B financial services
  • Masters personalized/contextualized email marketing tactics focused on conversion
  • Excellent writing, account research and listening skills (English)
  • Interest in technology and financial services
  • Strong time management & organizational skills
  • Understanding of ABM marketing principles
  • Comfortable working in a metric driven environment
  • Winning mentality, action oriented and laser focus on achieving goals
  • A self-starter to take full ownership and initiative with the ability to work independently
  • Motivation to work in a dynamic, fast-paced scaleup environment
  • Project Management skills
